Horse Riding in Andalucia

The Costa del Sol is considered as one of the best places for horse riding in the southern region of Spain. The natural unspoilt terrain along with the warm Mediterranean sun makes it the ideal climate for horse trekking in Andalucia. Canter through the Spanish countryside or gallop down the beach at sunset on the back of a traditional Spanish horse. Take a ride out for an hour or make a day of it stopping for lunch and enjoying the typical lifestyle of the Spanish cowboy!

Just a short distance away from the hectic city centres of Malaga and Marbella and the glamour of Puerto Banus you can be in the tranquil countryside of the Costa del Sol. With plenty of horses to choose from we can cater for all levels of horse riders. Whether you’re a beginner looking for a fun and relaxing day taking a trek through the country, or a more advanced rider picking up the pace cantering down cross country tracks though rivers and across the mountains, you will have fantastic views of the snow capped mountains of the Sierra Nevada Ski resort down to the Rock of Gibraltar.

Horse riding has been a Spanish tradition for centuries, which is still very much alive today and also a way of life for many Spaniards living in Andalucia. Whilst on your horse riding adventure on the Costa del Sol you will come across many other local riders on your way, stopping at local peña’s (a small bar in the country for horses and their riders to rest) for a drink and a few tapa’s to keep you going, most of these bars are off the beaten track and definitely not your usual tourist bar!
